Excellent Boat Names from TV Shows and Movies
Movies and TV shows are a collective escape that many boat lovers enjoy. If you’re a fan of boats, boat names, or just good ole fashion comedies, then you’ve probably come across a few of these boats.
Gone Fission – The Simpsons
Mr. Burns is the richest man in Springfield, he owns the nuclear power plant, so he sports a boat with the clever title “Gone Fission”. The plant is still going strong in Springfield because the Simpsons is the longest running animated primetime show in history.
The Wanderer – Captain Ron
Captain Ron is often overlooked in the Kurt Russell catalog, but it shouldn’t be! This is an outstandingly hilarious movie featuring a boat trip across the Caribbean Sea. This film stars Martin Short and details his funny journey from turning the dilapidated Wanderer into a seaworthy vessel.
SS Minnow – Gilligan’s Island
This is an oldie, but a goodie – so we had to throw it in here. If you’re unfamiliar with the greatness that is Gilligan’s Island, please go revisit it or ask your parents about it. No one knows how they packed all those clothes for a 3-hour tour, but they did.
The Flying Wasp – Caddyshack
By far the finest golf movie of all time, but it also features a delightful scene featuring a boat named The Flying Wasp. If you haven’t checked this one out recently or forgot about the boat scenes with the Judge and Danny, go check it out. It’s worth your while.
